Known as “Holy Wood”, Palo Santo wood is regularly burned as incense. Good for respiratory and generally strengthening for the immune system. Its unique aroma is supportive, cleansing and encourages one to slow down. Our Palo Santo is harvested and distilled in a very special way by individuals who avoid eating salt, having sex or engaging in any form of gossip during the distillation process, but rather are mindful and prayerful. Limited production of highest quality.
Palo Santo, or Holy Wood, has become more popular in recent years - increasing the necessity for sustainable growing practices. The felling of live trees for essential oil production has ended and only wood that has naturally fallen is taken for normal production.
However, there is a short period of time in January each year that branches are selectively trimmed from growing trees. This harvest is sacred and harvesters are encouraged to be in prayer, abstain from sexual relations and not speak of anyone not present during this time.
The distillation from this annual special harvest only yields 12-15 Kilograms of essential oil per year.
