A beautiful, warm and rich aromatherapy oil that is threatened by over-harvesting. Taking 30-60 years for the trees to grow to their prime, it is an investment in time that has tempted many to harvest early - resulting in less yield of an inferior quality. Strict regulations are in place to ensure that Sandalwood will be available for the generations to come, but this severely limits the production each year. While the oil from Mysore India has traditionally been the most highly regarded, the foresight of plantation owners in Australia has begun to pay off in quality that is now similar to that from Mysore.
